The computer is the absolute best way to stay in touch with family, and keep one’s mind sharp. Some seniors see it as a tool they must master to get mail from family and others really enjoy all the possibilities of the World Wide Web. Whichever your situation, we want to help make it easier.
We recommend two avenues of training: Cape Fear Community College has a very cost effective program for seniors and you can reach them at (910) 362-7000.
Or if you prefer, we offer private lessons in your home, on your computer (for one or more students, same price).
Private lessons are tailored to exactly what you want to learn. We suggest you make an appointment with us 7-10 days out. Then, use your computer in a normal fashion and write down everything that you have a question about.
For Example:
From the list you give to the technician, he or she answers those specific questions and elaborates on the types of questions you have.
For example, if you have five questions about email, he or she may not only be able to answer those questions, but see a solution that will make things easier. Installing Outlook or Outlook express may help you manage your email.
In addition, we can offer suggestions for Assisted Technologies that will make your computer experience easier. If you have special needs, please call and ask for Susan.
We appreciate our seniors and enjoy their company. We have a special rate of $68.00 so be sure to let us know if you are over 65.
For those seniors bringing their computers to the shop, please leave the machine in the car and we will carry it in for you.
